043 Th: Sulli's passing

19/10/15 0:20 I don't really know Sulli, much less a fan of hers. But now and then, I would read about the hate and criticism surrounding Sulli. Because I see her so much on news articles, I grew fond of her. To me, her passing didn't feel like reality. It felt as if the news would be reported fake if I stopped thinking about it. I would wake up tomorrow, and then forget that article ever published. Sulli's death is just unreal. I only know Jonghyun as well as I do Sulli, but I accepted Jonghyun's death with relative ease. The disbelief I had with Sulli's is a little hard to describe. I guess I really wanted to see her continue living, see her go against the tide. But now, for whatever reason, knowing that she gave up... that disheartens me. I always had a feeling I'd never see Sulli grow old. I don't usually think about it, but it just felt like suicidal acts fall in the spectrum of Sulli's tendencies. Just that it wasn't something I'd wa

041 E: The gates were open, but I was lucky

19/8/26 21:08 I skipped July! Anyway. When I was 8, my family moved to a new neighborhood. The residential area was newly renovated and spacious, therefore, quiet. I was still schooling at the time, so not much of my daily routines had changed following the relocation. On weekdays, my mom would wake me up at dawn to catch our bus scheduled to fetch me at 5:00. Classes start at 7:00 and I usually reach school an hour before that. I vividly remember watching the dark skies of dawn turn blue everyday I passed time in school before classes start. You can only imagine how much darker the skies were while I was waiting in my porch at 5 in the morning. The gates of that house were automated, and my mom usually goes back to nap in the living room once she made sure we were up and dressed for school. So every morning, my preteen sisters and I waited at the front porch of a fancy house, unattended in a quiet neighborhood, with no sense of caution, under the dark sky, before wide open gate

040 Th: Who you don't want to be

19/06/16 19:37 When you stepped off on the wrong foot and slip, you fall. Maybe you shouldn't have walked the same path if you knew you were going to lose your balance. To continue walking is to change your pace, the kind of pace you hate walking in. 19:40

038 Review: The Legend of Zhen Huan (甄嬛传)

19/4/18 14:48 Summary The Legend of Zhen Huan depicts life in the Forbidden City during Emperor Yong’s reign ( 雍正 ). The story follows Huan ( 甄嬛 ) as she overcomes the trials and tribulations of concubinage in the palace. With each strife and betrayal, she was forced to cope and adapt to the virulent environment. Thoughts I finished 76 episodes in 4 days, that’s how fucked up my schedule was. Anyway, this was a real good watch. I thoroughly enjoyed how well the messages were presented to the audience. Though, at some points it gets quite boring, like really. I had to skim through some episodes. But it only happens after something big happened and the boredom is just the calm before another storm. I enjoyed watching Yan Xi more than Zhen Huan, with Yan Xi each episode kept me entertained and there were no abysmal troughs. But at some point in Zhen Huan, I thought to myself, how much longer is this arc going to go on? I was bored out of my mind and just read the recaps
