036 Rules of Dealing with the Paranormal (as perceived by me)

Paranormal events are interesting, I like listening to anecdotes of them, best told in mandarin. I'm just making a rough estimate here, but if I were to guess, I would assume I heard around 50 hours worth of anecdotes over the past 2 years. Thus, I must make a list of rules one must abide by in paranormal situations!

1.  Always be respectful and not insult the dead: Knowingly or unknowingly, offended spirits can punish you!
2. Make sure you are worshiping the right entity: Deity may cease occupying an idol that isn't maintained properly. Spirits can inhabit those idols without your knowledge and worshiping them attracts bad luck.
3. Don't make direct contact with them: Even if you see, act like you didn't. Even if you heard, ignore it. Don't respond and don't sympathize.
4. Don't make deals with spirits: It can be a win-win situation, but in retrospect, you get the shorter end of the stick.
5. Always fulfill your deals: They can and will torment you until you honor your end of the deal.
6. Don't take pictures of accidents that happen at night: If it's none of your business, don't risk it. Spirits roam about at night, and they might be the ones that cause the accident. By taking a picture, you make direct contact with them and attract their attention.
7. Delete pictures that captured paranormal images: Share if you must, but keep it off your phone.
8. Hide under your blankets: As illogical as it sounds, they do provide some sense of security.
9. And don't peek!: Curiosity killed the cat!
10. Wait until morning: They leave.
11. Always tell somebody: If something is there, it is best to share rather than think nothing of it. Spirits won't leave on their own.
12. Meet an exorcist: They communicate the cause and provide a solution to the problem.

A list of knowledge:

1. Spirits prefer dark and wet areas.
2. Spirits normally manifest in black and white. When you see red, see an exorcist as soon as possible. When it's green, you most likely won't have a chance to survive its wrath.
3. People who offend spirits suffer retribution, innocent people can too. Spirits like humans can be irrational. It's a matter of bad luck.
4. Vivid dreams of the dead are messages.
5. Spirits can speak in the tone of their voice when they possess someone.
6. Spirits wait to be reincarnated.
7. Fairies and Sprites of nature exist!
8. Construction changes the fengshui of an area.
9. Consuming beef nullifies the protection of a Deity.
