043 Th: Sulli's passing

19/10/15 0:20 I don't really know Sulli, much less a fan of hers. But now and then, I would read about the hate and criticism surrounding Sulli. Because I see her so much on news articles, I grew fond of her. To me, her passing didn't feel like reality. It felt as if the news would be reported fake if I stopped thinking about it. I would wake up tomorrow, and then forget that article ever published. Sulli's death is just unreal. I only know Jonghyun as well as I do Sulli, but I accepted Jonghyun's death with relative ease. The disbelief I had with Sulli's is a little hard to describe. I guess I really wanted to see her continue living, see her go against the tide. But now, for whatever reason, knowing that she gave up... that disheartens me. I always had a feeling I'd never see Sulli grow old. I don't usually think about it, but it just felt like suicidal acts fall in the spectrum of Sulli's tendencies. Just that it wasn't something I'd wa...

041 E: The gates were open, but I was lucky

19/8/26 21:08 I skipped July! Anyway. When I was 8, my family moved to a new neighborhood. The residential area was newly renovated and spacious, therefore, quiet. I was still schooling at the time, so not much of my daily routines had changed following the relocation. On weekdays, my mom would wake me up at dawn to catch our bus scheduled to fetch me at 5:00. Classes start at 7:00 and I usually reach school an hour before that. I vividly remember watching the dark skies of dawn turn blue everyday I passed time in school before classes start. You can only imagine how much darker the skies were while I was waiting in my porch at 5 in the morning. The gates of that house were automated, and my mom usually goes back to nap in the living room once she made sure we were up and dressed for school. So every morning, my preteen sisters and I waited at the front porch of a fancy house, unattended in a quiet neighborhood, with no sense of caution, under the dark sky, before wide open gate...

040 Th: Who you don't want to be

19/06/16 19:37 When you stepped off on the wrong foot and slip, you fall. Maybe you shouldn't have walked the same path if you knew you were going to lose your balance. To continue walking is to change your pace, the kind of pace you hate walking in. 19:40

038 Review: The Legend of Zhen Huan (甄嬛传)

19/4/18 14:48 Summary The Legend of Zhen Huan depicts life in the Forbidden City during Emperor Yong’s reign ( 雍正 ). The story follows Huan ( 甄嬛 ) as she overcomes the trials and tribulations of concubinage in the palace. With each strife and betrayal, she was forced to cope and adapt to the virulent environment. Thoughts I finished 76 episodes in 4 days, that’s how fucked up my schedule was. Anyway, this was a real good watch. I thoroughly enjoyed how well the messages were presented to the audience. Though, at some points it gets quite boring, like really. I had to skim through some episodes. But it only happens after something big happened and the boredom is just the calm before another storm. I enjoyed watching Yan Xi more than Zhen Huan, with Yan Xi each episode kept me entertained and there were no abysmal troughs. But at some point in Zhen Huan, I thought to myself, how much longer is this arc going to go on? I was bored out of my mind and just read the recaps ...

036 Rules of Dealing with the Paranormal (as perceived by me)

19/2/28 21:34 Paranormal events are interesting, I like listening to anecdotes of them, best told in mandarin. I'm just making a rough estimate here, but if I were to guess, I would assume I heard around 50 hours worth of anecdotes over the past 2 years. Thus, I must make a list of rules one must abide by in paranormal situations!  Always be respectful and not insult the dead: Knowingly or unknowingly, offended spirits can punish you! Make sure you are worshiping the right entity: Deity may cease occupying an idol that isn't maintained properly. Spirits can inhabit those idols without your knowledge and worshiping them attracts bad luck. Don't make direct contact with them: Even if you see, act like you didn't. Even if you heard, ignore it. Don't respond and don't sympathize. Don't make deals with spirits: It can be a win-win situation, but in retrospect, you get the shorter end of the stick. Always fulfill your deals: They can and will torment you...

035 Love like that

19/01/03 22:22 First things first, Happy New Year. Kay. I was just thinking of Miley and Liam, their relationship. They tied the knot recently after 10 years, it wasn't the smoothest ride, but at least all is well. The relationship was pretty, almost like a movie. I don't know much about Liam other than the fact that he starred in The Hunger Games, but Miley, I knew her since Hannah Montana. I wasn't attached to Miley's image in her Disney days, maybe because I was too young to understand what's so good about her. I remember watching a video of her smoking and high on drugs, did a risque photo shoot, posting weird videos on Youtube with rebellious make-up. Those were the things I knew her as, she didn't change to someone worse, she was originally just 'someone slutty'. I didn't care enough to search then, so I don't know the world's opinion on her. But as far as I remember, nobody I knew liked Miley. She laid low for a while then cam...

034 E: Songs that bring nostalgia

18/12/11 04:08 Some songs trigger my nostalgia, mostly linked to positive phases in my life. When I listen to them, I feel a wave of something I can't describe, I can't remember what I feel nostalgic about, but I'll try. It's a good thing all these songs have timestamps. Phineas&Ferb - Gitchee Gitchee Goo (Feb, 2010) Bow-chika bow wow, That's what my baby said Bow wow wow, and my heart starts pumpingChicka Chicka chew wow Never gonna stop, Gitchee Gitchee Goo means that I love you This song lost its trigger because so long has passed, but I remember feeling nostalgic about it. This song was on repeat at Disney Channel in Genting Highlands. I've visited Genting Highlands before, but that year was the first year I had capacity when going. It was fun and blissful. Lovelyz - For You (Dec, 2015) The whole song  It was my first week of work then, when I was still obsessed with Lovelyz. When I discovered I could watch YouTube on the company's lapto...

033 I Lost Something

18/11/29 18:36 Today feels bad man. I lost something I bought overseas. I had it in my luggage, I thought. Someone else unpacked it for me so I can't be sure whether it was in my luggage before I checked it in. The person who unpacked it for me doesn't remember anything. There's no closure, I don't even know if I brought it back from my holiday. I'm searching aimlessly. Dear God, I won't even ask where my stuffs are, just tell me, did I bring it back? Sometimes I feel like crying because I can't find it, and there's no one I can ask. 18:43

032 E: Grade school teachers

18/10/4 11:18 I remember back when I was 9, we had a homeroom teacher who'd call kids names. He called one kid "a devil" and then another one a "trash" since... I don't know, maybe they were noisy? I forgot. Eventually, other kids called them names too. One mysterious day, he gathered the class. He asked us kids to not tell our parents that he gave us demeaning names. He specifically asked for the attention of the kid he called devil. I never understood why he stopped calling them names, especially since the class was having a blast picking on those kids. Now that I think about it, his colleague probably got an ass-whooping for doing the same thing, and that served as his warning. I had another homeroom teacher when I was 12, she was weird. My classmates were sharper than I am, so they caught it early on while I stayed stupid. Even so, our class was fond of her. One time, we mimicked her words. She found it humorous in the morning, laughed with us. But ...

18/7/8 22:26 I watched a movie 2 days ago. The lack of self-awareness can be charming, but the older a person gets, the more tragic that trait becomes. 22:29

027 Public Transport and Accidents

18/7/7 07:07 Wow, okay, holy shit. I did not realize there were four 7's until I wrote it down. Anyway, recently, I've been imagining dying in an accident. I was on a public transport, the day would just be like any other day, except something will go wrong today. Maybe the the bus tosses over or something and then I'll die. A freak accident. Subsequent to the thought, I stumbled upon a video, about Japan and the transit incident back 2005. Then, I felt the need to jot it down. 07:14

026 You notice

18/6/17 05:42 You notice the way he looks at you, a little interested, a little expectant. Don't acknowledge it, then it's not complicated. That's how it should be, yet you can't help but like the attention. It's suspended, not yet set in stone, somewhat shallow, somewhat free. When it threatens to fade, you feed it a little, just a little to make it stay. Keep silent when you should speak, remain still when you're supposed to act. It's wrong, you feel bad, but you feel good. 05:55

025 Unexpected

18/5/24 21:36 Today something unexpected happened. I like to anticipate events, expect situations and predict endgames. Things that I don't expect make me happy. Today something unexpected happened. 21:39

024 Th: Many things

18/5/10 07:52 There are many things I want in life, but there is so little that I'm willing to give or to sacrifice. The general election... hmm. 07:56

023 Th: Unsee

18/4/29 11:55 I never wished to unsee things. When I don't believe, truths are never hard to face. But, that doesn't mean I don't hurt. I understand the situation, I comply. I'm not pained, I'm not the one feeling threatened. The situation reminds me of the reasons why I don't believe. Or rather, those reasons happen because I didn't believe? But, just maybe, I've simply misinterpreted the whole situation. 18/4/30 00:10
